Dr. LA Thoma Gustin
Dr. LA Thoma, founder of DTBA, is a Physical Therapist and personal trainer who strives to change the culture of fitness through her unique workout method: Dare to Be Active. Her philosophy emphasizes the importance of science-backed movement with a relatable approach to fitness, injury prevention & rehab to inspire others through confidence, community and inner strength.
LA holds a BS degree in Exercise Physiology from Kent State University, a DPT from Old Dominion University and completed an Orthopedic Residency and Manual Therapy Fellowship in Physical Therapy.
She competed collegiately as a Division 1 soccer athlete and has trained celebrities including Camila Mendes, Madelaine Petsch, Lili Reinhart and Rudy Mancuso among others.
Coach / Yoga.
Dr. Lexi Reid
Dr. Lexi Reid grew up as a dancer, gymnast, runner, cheerleader and more. Athletics, and subsequent injuries, always played a role in her journey which led her to becoming a licensed DPT and yoga practitioner (and teacher) for the past 10 years.
She now owns a concierge physical therapy practice & passionately pursues the neuroscience of pain, chronic conditions, psychosomatic syndromes and discovering tools to improve and rewire fear responses in the brain. When not teaching DTBA, Lexi enjoys deep breathwork and meditation, which she attributes to the healing of her anxiety and depression.

Dr. Joyce Shaw
Dr. Joyce Shaw was born and raised in SoCal and has worked in the physical therapy space for over 14 years.
Holding a BS degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State University, a DPT from USC and having completed the Agile Physical Therapy Orthopedic Residency & Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program, she is committed to educating clients through intentional rehabilitation.
She oversees our pre & postnatal program to guide and educate expectant mamas through every stage of pregnancy. In her free time, she enjoys all Los Angeles has to offer with her husband and two babies.

Dr. Aly Andersen
Dr. Aly Andersen graduated from the USC Department of Physical Therapy, completing her DPT and Orthopedic Clinical Residency with honors.
She specializes in treating musculoskeletal injuries with dancers and pre/professional athletes while utilizing the Pilates Method in her assessment and treatments.
Aly opened her own outpatient clinic Steel Physical Therapy and Pilates in 2022 and is excited to share her love of Pilates and knowledge of injury rehabilitation with the DTBA community.
