At DTBA, every class & program is built on the expertise of Doctors of Physical Therapy. That means no random workouts, no trendy gimmicks, just smart programming that makes you stronger without burning you out. We also know that everyone is busy these days so we strive to make our workouts effective but also realistic enough to fit your schedule.
We design each sequence with intention, focusing on how your muscles, joints, and movement patterns actually work. The result is workouts that build lasting strength, improve performance, and keep your body moving well for years to come.
If you are looking to get stronger, feel more energized, you've officially found your tribe.
Every workout is designed and taught by experts who have a deep understanding of muscles, joints and movement. That means smarter programming, safer progress, and results that last.
Meet the Founder.
Dr. LA Thoma Gustin
I am Dr. LA Thoma Gustin, the founder of Dare To Be Active. I started DTBA because I wanted to change the way people think about fitness. For too long, workouts have been about punishment, quick fixes, or following the latest trend. My goal is to bring it back to what really matters: science-backed movement, proper form, and feeling strong in your own body.
As a Physical Therapist and personal trainer, I have seen firsthand how the right approach to movement can prevent injuries, support rehab, and build confidence. Fitness should feel safe, sustainable, and enjoyable, and that belief is at the heart of everything I create inside DTBA.
As a former division I soccer player to now being a mom of 2, I have trained through a huge spectrum of mental and physical availability. I use the same dedication, discipline, and understanding I learned from being both to help others discover their own strength. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with people from all walks of life, from everyday movers to professional athletes and entertainers. No matter who I work with, my focus is the same: helping each person find joy in movement and the confidence that comes with it.
